My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pickle Rose is a very sweet, timid 3-year-old Boston Terrier. She is incredibly gentle, well-mannered and loves to give kisses. Pickle Rose requires a fence and at least one other dog. She is a bit timid and feels most confident around other dogs. She will not walk on a leash without another dog, more dogs are better. She is still learning how to do stairs and is a bit uncomfortable with slick, hardwood floors.  Pickle sleeps quietly in the crate at night and enjoys napping on dog beds during the day. She is very, very smart and learns new things every day. She does fine with teenagers in the house. She would also probably do fine with respectful, older children as well. Pickle Rose is a very sweet, timid girl with big love to give.

We are unsure if Pickle Rose is spayed, but think she may be. She has a scar, but it could be a C-section scar as she was used for breeding in her former life. Due to the risk and cost associated with surgery/ ultrasound to determine if she is spayed, we have held off on any further procedures. An adopter would need to let BTRET know if she goes into heat, and BTRET would pay to have Pickle spayed at a veterinarian of the rescue’s choice (to keep costs minimal).

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
