My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Olive came to us from very sad circumstances. Her owner got breast cancer, lost her house and had been living in a car with four dogs. She managed to find a hotel after three weeks, but could not keep the dogs. The dogs were living in filth, and the owner made the painful decision to rehome them when she realized she couldn’t properly care for them.

Olive was understandably terrified when she came to us, but is starting to come out out of her shell. Because she is only 10 months old we think she will recover from the ordeal and be a lovely pet for someone.

Olive is shed free. Her mother was a purebred Poodle and her father was reportedly part Maltese and part Shih Tzu. Olive is a gentle soul and good with other dogs.

Additional adoption info

The adoption process involves several steps because we want to avoid returns, as they are stressful for both the adopter and the dog. Shelters are unable to screen applicants as thoroughly and can have return rates as high as 20%. We aim to keep our return rates below 5%.
