My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peter is an about 5-year-old orange tabby who has been deeply loved by his family, but the arrival of a new baby has made life very stressful for him. His owner has tried everything—veterinary consultations, anxiety medication, treats, enrichment, and creating quiet safe spaces—but Peter remains anxious and jealous around the infant. Because he is such a sensitive, affectionate cat, he truly needs more one-on-one attention than the family can give right now.

Despite this struggle, Peter is a wonderful companion in the right environment. He’s sweet, loving, and enjoys curling up near his people. He gets along well with other cats and does fine with most dogs. Small children, however, are too overwhelming for him, so he would thrive best in an adult-only household or a calm home with older teens. Peter enjoys being indoors but also likes the occasional safe outdoor time for fresh air and exploring.

This gentle boy deserves a peaceful home where he can relax, feel secure, and soak up the affection he loves so much. With a patient adult adopter, Peter will blossom into the loyal, loving companion he’s meant to be. Could you be his fresh start?

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our 9LCR cats are not routinely tested for FIV and FeLV for various reasons, one being to keep the costs and hence the adoption fee affordable. This decision is based on studies that have found that only about 4% of cats are actually infected. The funds for testing are better utilized for our spay and neuter efforts of owned and community cats in order to save the most cats. However, testing can be performed upon request and need to be covered by the person interested in adopting.
9 Lives Cats have been spayed or neutered and have updated vaccinations. 9 Lives is run entirely on volunteers. Please give us 2-7 days to process your application. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us! Please fill out our application form found here: t.ly/38VV
Adoption fee is $70.00.

More about this rescue

We started 9 Lives Cat Rescue to find homes for cats that are homeless or need to be relocated.
We are a no-kill, non-profit group. Our cats live in foster homes until they are adopted. We spay & neuter every cat before they are adopted.
We fully support our local no-kill feral cat group who practices TNR (Trap, Neuter & Return).
