Meet Lennon! This handsome 3 year old is understandably a little nervous finding himself in the shelter. He relaxes out on the trails where he loves to sniff and explore. He is working on his leash skills and doing a great job. He might pull a little at first, but he settles in nicely. Something really cute about Lennon is his regular check ins - he will look up or back you to make sure all is OK! He likes to engage with his person. Lennon is smart and eager to learn, and enjoys his “working walks.” This super handsome fellow loves head pets, butt scratches, and belly rubs, and does a nice lean in appreciation. Lennon knows “sit” and loves treats, which he takes very gently. He may start to jump up in excitement because they are so yummy, but he quickly takes redirection. He also appears to be housebroken.
Lennon recently enjoyed an overnight break with a volunteer, and he proved to be a wonderful houseguest. He hopped right into the car and traveled calmly, settling into home life with ease. On walks, his pulling decreased steadily, and even in moments of excitement—like when two rabbits ran by—he was manageable and responsive. He is curious about the world but not reactive, calmly observing people and dogs from a distance before moving on. Indoors, Lennon alternated between relaxing close by and playing nicely with his toys.
He slept well through the night, had no accidents, and did not get into anything inappropriate aside from occasionally mistaking decorative pillows for toys. He took his medications easily, had a healthy appetite, and showed excellent manners around food. On a trail walk the next morning, Lennon walked beautifully and frequently checked in with his people to make sure everyone stayed together. Outside the shelter, he shines as a well-mannered, affectionate companion who clearly thrives in a home environment. Lennon is ready for a foster or adopter who can give him the stable, loving home he deserves.
Lennon has met other dogs at the shelter, and he is a rowdy player, and will need to meet any doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match.

When you arrive, you will first be asked to fill out our Shelter Adoption Application with your information. You may also pre-fill our Shelter Adoption Application ahead of time online to save time when you are at the shelter. Your application will be processed after you meet the animal.
Step 3: Tour our adoption rooms and write down the names of animals that you would like to meet. A volunteer or staff member will help you meet your chosen animals to make a match!
Step 4: When you have selected the right animal for you, our Adoptions Team will run your Adoption Application for approval. Once your application is approved, you will participate in an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their known history and medical records.
