Stewie is a sweet, shy, and affectionate 2-year-old boy weighing about 50 pounds. While he may take a little time to warm up to new people and situations, his gentle, loving personality shines through once he feels safe. This quiet cuddle bug loves relaxing with his people, snuggling, and enjoying tasty bones.
Stewie has shown himself to be playful and confident when he’s around other dogs, especially one special canine companion during his foster stay. He would thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help him build confidence and encourage play. Stewie has also done wonderfully with children ages 3–10, showing patience, gentleness, and respect.
Though he is still building confidence with housetraining and outdoor adventures, Stewie is making great progress. He’s on a routine, adjusting to a new salmon-based diet for his sensitive skin, and responds well to consistent guidance. He enjoys short walks, and with patience, is gradually learning to explore and navigate the world outside his comfort zone.
Stewie is currently in a foster home, continuing to learn and grow in a calm, supportive environment. With a patient adopter who can provide love, consistency, and possibly a doggie friend, Stewie will blossom into a loyal, playful, and affectionate companion.

Step 2: Visit our shelter during adoption hours (Monday-Friday 2-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.). When you arrive, you will first be asked to fill out our Shelter Adoption Application with your information. You may also pre-fill our Shelter Adoption Application ahead of time online to save time when you are at the shelter. Your application will be processed after you meet the animal.
Step 3: Tour our adoption rooms and write down the names of animals that you would like to meet. A volunteer or staff member will help you meet your chosen animals to make a match!
Step 4: When you have selected the right animal for you, our Adoptions Team will run your Adoption Application for approval. Once your application is approved, you will participate in an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their known history and medical records.
What else to expect: Animals who are already spayed/neutered and past their stray hold (if applicable) can often go home with you the same day. Pick-up arrangements for unaltered animals and/or animals still on a stray hold will be made during your adoption class.
