My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lulu a 6-7 year old lab/hound mix. Lulu was surrendered by her owner who was 91 and could no longer care for her. Unfortunately for Lulu, she has not lead a very healthy life until now. Lulu has callouses on her sitting bones from sitting so much and she had to loose multiple teeth due to them being broken. It seems like she may have been chewing on a crate or chain because all of her canine teeth were broke and had to be removed. This will not cause her any problems eating but once healed her tongue may pop out. She came thru surgery like a champ. Lulu also had scabs on her back end from itching, probably fleas. They are all cleared and with good food her skin is already feeling much better and she is itching much less. Lulu is extremely people and food motivated. She is learning not to jump on people and slowly learning that paws on the counter are a no-no. Lulu loves her people so much and would be in a lap all the time to get pets if she could. Her belly is her favorite. Lulu does sleep in bed with her foster mom and has to be touching her at all times. She is slowly learning how to run in the yard with the other resident dog. Lulu is house broken if kept on a schedule. She gets crated when her foster mom goes to work. She has earned up to 6 hours free in the house when her foster mom goes to run errands. She is older so she does not chew on the furniture or things she should not. Lulu has not had much time on a leash, and she has to be part hound so her nose is always to the ground and she pulls a bit. She has a medium energy level and could use good long walks daily. Lulu has jumped a 4 foot fence to get to her foster mom so if a fenced in yard will be her only exercise she will need a 6 foot fence. Lulu is so loving and cuddly. She has gotten along with all of the dogs who have been in the house and got along with the small dogs at the adoption events but since there are no cats in her home it is unsure how she is with them. Lulu is a great gal and has been spayed and up to date on all her immunizations and is microchipped and had a dental. Please call if you would like to meet her.If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275.
