My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Susie - A Sweet Soul Ready for a Fresh Start

Susie hasn't had the easiest journey. Her life so far has been marked by change and uncertainty, without the consistency and security every dog deserves. But despite it all, she's never lost her gentle spirit and loving heart.

This beautiful girl is eager to please and absolutely adores being around people. Whether it's snuggling on the couch, following you from room to room, or simply sitting nearby, Susie is happiest when she's with her humans. She craves connection and thrives on attention-she just wants to love and be loved in return.

Susie does have some allergies, so she's on a strict hypoallergenic diet to help keep her healthy and comfortable. With the right food and care, she feels her best and is able to enjoy life to the fullest.

What Susie needs now is a calm, stable home with a patient and consistent owner who can show her what it means to feel truly safe and cherished. With kindness, routine, and a little time, she's sure to blossom into the loyal and loving companion she was always meant to be.

If you're someone who believes in second chances and has the heart to help a deserving dog heal and thrive, Susie might just be your perfect match.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
