Meep entered the San Diego Humane Society as a stray, and after she wasn't claimed during the hold period, we welcomed her as a Frosted Face on November 24th. Meep is estimated to be 12 years old, weigh 15 lbs., and is very sweet.
Meep is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about her while she enjoys spending time in the comfort of a home. Her Fling Mom reports:
"Our Fling with Meep (MeeMee/Meepers/Meemaw) is going swimmingly! This gal is all that and a bag of your favorite chips!
🐶 Totally potty trained! Despite being blind, Meep has not had ONE accident in the house. I make sure to take her out several times a day and mostly she goes morning and night (so I suspect she had a working parent, previously).
🐶 Totally crate trained! For her safety at night (and when we leave the house) Meep sleeps cozily in a crate and makes not a peep. In true chi fashion, she burrows into her blankets and snoozes away.
🐶 Loves people! She likes being carried and snuggling with her folks. Meep is a Grade A people-pup who will look in your direction when you talk to her, wag her tail, and tiptoe toward you.
🐶 Easy to feed and medicate! Meep is not picky about food at all (although she needs to stick to a chicken diet) and is diabetic, so she gets insulin injections twice a day, 12hrs apart, in the scruff of her neck. She hardly notices it's happening and the injections are VERY easy to give!
🐶 Meep is super easygoing! She ignores our cat, gives only a low growl when our other dogs get in her face, is easily handled by people, has no separation anxiety and I have yet to hear her whine or bark.
What kind of home do I think Meep would do well in? I think the only home she might not thrive in would be one with small kids or rambunctious big dogs. Other than that, I think Meep would do well with parents that work in or out of the home, families with older kids (mine are 12 and 16 and she adores them), in an apartment or single-story home (or a two-story with a baby gate on the stairs, like us), with other calmer/polite dogs or solo, with or without cats. It all works for her!"
