Ira was surrendered to South LA-Chesterfield Square Shelter by his owner for unknown reasons. He is 15 years old, weighs 12 lbs., and is a very sweet and friendly guy.
For a senior gentleman, Ira has lots of spunk and pep! He loves going on our weekly FFF hikes and is ready to walk! He is great on leash and non-reactive to passing dogs. Ira is smart, very treat motivated, and knows good things happen when he sits politely. He loves to sit in laps, too!
Ira went on a Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about him while he enjoyed being in the comfort of a home again. His Fling Dad reports:
"Ira was timid at first but has blossomed over the past week. Here is what we’ve learned during his stay:
✅ Loves hikes & long walks
✅ Cuddle professional
✅ Burrows into blankets for comfort
✅ Good with our energetic dog
✅ Loves hanging out in his crate
✅ Seems to be potty trained
Ira needs a patient family who understands he is getting over being left at the shelter and needs time to trust again. Once Ira feels safe, he is confident and loving."
