My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Yams!  She is a 2 year old labrador retriever mix who weighs 41 lbs.  She is already showing what a wonderful companion she’ll be! She’s making great progress with house-training and rarely has accidents, though she does prefer her person to step outside with her when it’s potty time.

Crates aren’t her favorite, but she’s proven to be trustworthy when left loose in her foster home. At night, she’ll happily snooze wherever she pleases, though her top choice is snuggling in bed with her humans.

She loves playtime—whether romping in the yard with her canine foster sibling, chasing toys around the house, or settling in with a good bone to chew. Cuddles are always welcome, too.

Cats, however, are a bit too tempting for her, so she’ll do best in a home without them or with dog-savvy cats who won’t mind her rough play. She hasn’t met children yet, but her foster believes she’d do well with older kids who can respect her shy, sometimes timid nature.

Her foster describes her as friendly, adaptable, happy, playful, and quiet. Despite her young age, she has a calm maturity about her—her favorite pastime is curling up right next to her people for a nap after a little toy time.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who balances play with plenty of snuggles, this sweet girl might just be the perfect fit for your family.

Her adoption fee is $300  plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
