My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 5y

Gender: Female

Breed: Mixed

Weight: 36

Personality: Very sweet, cuddly and friendly, very gentle and great with kids. Stevie is very curious and always trying to explore outside. She has mild separation anxiety but settles quickly and is not destructive.

Friendliness: Dogs: Yes Cats: Unknown Kids: Yes

Education: Walks well on the leash. She is working on her potty training. Stevie is not crate trained, but she is not destructive when left alone.

Favorite Activities: Sniffing anything outside, chewing her fluffy toys, walking, running, playing fetch ball at the beach, cuddling up with her humans, getting treats

Looking For: Stevie’s gentle personality will make her a good fit for any home. She will be good as an only dog or with another non-reactive dog at home. Stevie is the sweetest cute pie in the world - need a cuddle? She’s there. Need to burn some steam with a run on the beach? She’s there. Need a friendly dog who is gentle with kids? Stevie is your gal. Planning a hike in the back country? Stevie will be your guide (leashed at first, of course)

Special Needs: Stevie is always trying to explore outside and can become a flight risk, so extra attention is needed when she is not explicitly leashed (prone to escape).

My adoption fee is $250 and includes my spay, vaccinations, and microchip. If you’d like to meet me, please fill out the form here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
