My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Teddy Ruxpin is a 1 year old red Boston Terrier. He weighs in at 25 lbs. and is
neutered. He is house and crate trained. He is also on heartworm and flea/tick
prevention. Teddy is a healthy young dog.
Teddy is great on a leash. He loves to go on walks, but is easily distracted.
Cats, squirrels and other dogs catch his eye. He chases the cats and squirrels.
He wants to play with all the dogs. Teddy is a friendly, sometimes goofy little
fellow. He loves praise! When he gets in trouble, he rolls over for a belly rub.

Teddy Ruxpin loves all toys. He doesn’t mind having one taken away. Teddy is
a pushover. He just finds another one. He has hoarded quite a stockpile.
Teddy is good with humans of all ages. Due to the fact that he is an active
puppy, he would be able to knock a small child over. He gets on very well with
his 7 foster siblings at home.

When traveling with Teddy, a crate or carseat is best. Just a seatbelt didn’t work
very well with him. He is very curious. Teddy sleeps in his crate without
disruption. He doesn’t complain when it’s time for bed. The boy plays hard all
day!
We are working on commands. Teddy knows sit and stay. We will continue to
work on more as time permits. He is eager to please with the help of some
treats. He is very gentle.

Teddy Ruxpin is still a puppy. He came into rescue at 11 months old after living
outside. That makes him a “big” puppy. He is learning to maneuver life as an
inside dog. This takes patience and time. He is full of energy. We think he would be

best in a home with a fenced yard and at least one other dog friend to play with as

he loves  to play and wrestle with another dog.
Likes: Praise, toys, treats, walks, belly rubs, play time
Dislikes: Cats and squirrels? Likes to chase.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
