My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jasper!

Sweet, gentle Jasper is a very shy girl, and it can often take her some time to warm up to new people. However, once you win over her heart, you will have gained a permanent shadow. In addition to going where you may go, Jasper is also a huge fan of cuddles on the couch, and is always ready to snuggle up next to you when it’s time for bed. When she’s not right next to her favorite person, Jasper also enjoys spending time outside, taking in the smells, and scoping out the neighborhood. While she may be gentle, this girl still knows how to have fun, and really loves to let loose and have fun when around other dogs similar to or smaller than her size. Outside of considerably larger dogs, Jasper is also not a fan of sudden, loud noises, and has a life-long vendetta against vacuums. (Who doesn’t though, you know?)

Great with: Other dogs, and kids of all ages!
BONUS:
Jasper is fully potty, and crate trained, and will happily sleep through the night, right by your side!

Ideal Home: Jasper would do well in a home of a loving individual, or a family whose kids will understand that she’s a lady and needs a more gentle touch than other dogs might. And while a canine companion isn’t required, she certainly wouldn’t mind if she had a mid-size to smaller buddy to hang out with!

So, if you’re looking for a shy, but friendly, lovable, and smart companion, Jasper is the girl for you!

“Fur-st Impressions” are very important! Schedule a meet and greet with Jasper before applying to see if she is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com.  A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Jasper’s adoption.

What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process?

Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days.

  1. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!).

  2. Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process.

  3. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family (the process may differ slightly for long distance adopters).

  4. Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time.

  5. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue

  • Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.

  • Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.

  • Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.

About Path of Hope Rescue

  • At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.

  • We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.

  • Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.

  • Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.
