Tessa was found in Marisule Beach - St. Lucia) - with her six puppies (the “T-siblings”). All of her babies have found loving homes locally, in the U.S., and in Canada — and now it’s finally her turn!
Tessa was scheduled to fly to Canada in May, but her journey was postponed when she was diagnosed with heartworm. The good news? She has successfully completed treatment and is now healthy, ready, and waiting for her forever home. 💕
She hasn’t been officially cat-tested yet, but her calm, gentle nature makes us believe she’d do well. She’s met children on walks and did wonderfully, gets along well with other dogs, and is fully house-trained. She walks nicely on leash, happily jumps into the car on her own, loves belly rubs, and even tolerates nail trims like a champ!
She’s confident around cars and trucks with no reactivity. While she can be a little shy at first, she’s made amazing progress and continues to blossom every day.

More about this rescue
Bruno Project Canada is a non-profit organization that helps injured and stray potcakes in St. Lucia and homeless dogs in Ontario.
Our primary focus is fundraising for spay/neuter clinics to help control the dog and cat population in St. Lucia. We also raise funds to provide parasite prevention, medical treatments, supplies, equipment, and food for the stray and shelter feeding programs, as well as for special projects.
We work closely with the volunteers at Bruno Project St. Lucia, and the St. Lucia Animal Protection Society (SLAPS) to support them in their heroic efforts to ease the suffering of cats and dogs in St. Lucia and find adoptive homes for dogs in Canada.
When possible, we also take in unwanted dogs in Ontario, provide them with needed care and fosters, and seek homes for them locally.
