My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Kiyoshi arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner on 11/19/2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Kiyoshi is an energetic, bright-eyed puppy bursting with curiosity and enthusiasm for the world around him. As a Border Collie-Australian Shepherd mix, he comes from two incredibly smart working breeds, so he thrives when given "jobs" to do and would truly shine with consistent training and mental enrichment. Kiyoshi has shown some reactive moments with other dogs, so slow, positive introductions are recommended as he continues to learn and grow. With the right guidance, plenty of activity, and a family excited to channel his energy in fun and constructive ways, Kiyoshi will blossom into an amazing, loyal, and hardworking companion.

At SDHS:
Kiyoshi has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Kiyoshi is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
