Meet Rosa — A Gentle, Soft-Soul 5-Year-Old Mix Looking for Her Forever Home
Name: Rosa
Age: 5 years
Sex: Spayed Female
Breed: Mixed
Color: Ivory / Beige
Weight: 6.3kg
Height (shoulder): 30cm
Rescue Story
Rosa was rescued from a city shelter in January 2023.
Due to her shy nature, she spent about a year in a foster home with little behavioral progress. In April 2024, she was moved to a dog café for six months, where her personality gradually brightened.
She later entered AKR center for continued socialization. Rosa is still a timid girl, but she now shows clear affection and trust toward people she opens her heart to. She is finally ready to find her forever family.
People Socialization
Rosa is initially shy but warms up especially if treats are involved. She allows gentle petting once she feels comfortable.
She tends to lean back when someone tries to pick her up, but she never bites or resists — she’s a gentle, non-reactive type.
With her trainer, she practiced socialization once a week. Now, when familiar staff or volunteers visit, Rosa greets them with a big smile, approaches on her own, and asks for treats with hopeful eyes.
She has not interacted with children under 13, but based on her behavior with adults, she is expected to handle them similarly. She can be picked up safely with arms under her belly.
Dog Socialization
Rosa is a dog-dependent girl — she thrives when she has another dog to lean on.
She becomes noticeably brighter, more confident, and more active in a home with other dogs compared to being an “only dog.”
In a previous foster home, she lived with several cats and one person, but spent most of her time quietly resting.
She generally gets along well with dogs her size or slightly larger. When playful dogs bother her too much, she may bark to set a boundary. If another dog provokes her, she tends to bark and chase them away rather than engage physically.
With dogs she trusts, she becomes very affectionate — even using them as a warm pillow.
Cats
Rosa lived with multiple cats for a full year and coexisted calmly.
She shows little interest and remains neutral around them.
Energy Level
Low energy.
Rosa is a calm, relaxed dog who enjoys resting quietly.
She becomes the happiest and most expressive during outdoor walks.
Other Behaviors
• No resource guarding toward people or dogs
• No separation anxiety
• Rarely barks, but may bark at unfamiliar people entering her personal space (center habit)
• Calm and quiet in the kennel
• Afraid of getting into the car — she needs to be lifted in, but she stays calm once inside
• Outdoor potty trained; uses pee pads at night
Rosa is a gentle, sweet, and sensitive soul who blossoms in a peaceful environment with a friendly resident dog. With love, patience, and a calm household, she will continue to grow and shine.
