My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Simba was brought in by his previous owner on October 21, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Simba might not be king of the jungle just yet, but he's certainly a cat with quiet charm and plenty of potential. Though he can be a little timid at first, give him time and kindness, and you'll see his inner lion start to shine. He has lived with other cats and enjoys their company, especially during playtime. Once he feels safe, Simba begins to show his gentle, curious side - stretching out in comfort and watching his world with those big, thoughtful eyes. With a patient, loving home, he's sure to find his roar and rule his new kingdom with a soft paw and a warm heart. Bring a carrier and come meet Simba today!

At SDHS:
Simba has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

Shy/Fearful Cat:Simba requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
