My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member on December 9, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Buz, He has lots of energy, curiosity, and a heart that's ready to learn. This handsome guy came in as a stray and is already showing how social he can be. He leans in for pets, enjoys gentle handling, and is happy to walk on leash once he gets settled.

Buz can get a bit excited (life is fun, after all!), but treats and positive interactions help him focus and relax. He'd thrive with plenty of enrichment, structure, and activities that keep both his brain and body busy. Training games, puzzle toys, and regular outings will be right up his alley.

Because Buz is still figuring things out, introductions to kids, dogs, or cats should be done thoughtfully and with guidance. With a virtual behavior consult and a committed adopter, Buz has all the potential to grow into an amazing, loyal companion who brings joy and enthusiasm wherever he goes.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
