My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Bama and I am looking for a forever home.  I am an owner surrender to a small rescue after spending the last 5 years of my life living in a small crate.  A volunteer with that rescue saw me and was able to talk my owner into giving me up; she then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me in my search for a home where I can run, play and be a regular dog and they said yes!  I am about 9-10years old although you would never guess it by how much I love to run around (my foster mom says I act like a typical Boston terrier, whatever that means).  I weigh a little under 24lbs and am at a good weight.  I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met, some smaller and some bigger than me, and I haven't bothered those things called cats.  I have done really well in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of bedding; however, I would prefer to be out with you and will sometimes let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you.  I am good on leash although I may tug a little in my excitement on being out and going on an adventure.  Oh yeah, I love playing with water coming out of a hose!  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
