***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA state & Oregon but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.

Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, PayPal, if using PayPal the potential adopter will have to pay the fees & charges with PayPal.

Toby had a home for the first part of his life but he had to be surrendered to the rescue due to nipping a child where he used to live.
His dad did not want to surrender Toby but his dad would have to move with Toby or Toby had to go.
His dad loved him very much.

When we got this boy he was not neutered & had a fowl smell coming from his mouth & we knew straight away he needed a major dental.
We were told that Toby had been around the odd random dog before but we quickly realized we had to teach him his scottie manners around dogs & so did they. Now he is with dogs 24/7 in his loving foster home & we have introduced him to over 40 dogs in the rescue.

This boy is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet. He just wants you to love him & he will love you back. He adores being shown love once he knows you.
When he finds people who love him they become his world. He is a cheeky scottie his foster mum said with a huge personality & so joyous.
He loves to run & play with his foster siblings & must go to a home with another dog who will play with him & doesn’t mind him nudging him to play with him.
She said he is a talker to, not a barker but a talker. He loves his food now & will talk to his foster mum when he sees her getting his food ready. He was on the thinner side when we got him & has put on a good amount of weight now.
He loves a good outfit & will get ready for you to put one on him.

Toby eats a clean diet, meaning raw fruits, raw vegetables, 70 % raw proteins, grains, fats & supplements. He also enjoys collagen sticks & bully sticks.
All of his treats are homemade

Toby has been taught to walk on harness & leash & has been doing wonderful. He would need continued work walking on his harness & leash. Toby is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Toby adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, baths, the hairdryer he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love.
As soon as we got this boy we groomed him & realized he was a beautiful brindle.

He has started showing interest in toys in his foster home.
Toby is a great car rider & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. At first he will be uncertain & worried where he is going to. He is such an amazing, loving little lad. With Toby we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this boy. He will bark & cry his head off if you leave him in a crate. We are also looking for a forever home for Toby where someone is home during the day or Toby can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them.
Did we mention this boy loves a good outfit too.
Toby is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding.

Toby has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company. He can be found at times snuggled up to his foster siblings.
He will want to sleep in bed with you too. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Toby’s new forever home if it’s a free standing home.

Toby is now roughly 24 lbs & is 6 years old & a Scottish terrier & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is now neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots including DHPP, rabies & dewormed.
Once these shots expire we will not redo them except rabies as we will not over vaccinate our beloved dogs.
Toby had a dental scale & polish & had to have 16 teeth removed.

We have spent over $2000 on Toby with paying for his medical care, including, neuter, dental scale & polish & having teeth removed, microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering.

Toby has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Toby with small children but we factually know he should not be around children so we do not recommend children & will not adopt Toby to a home with children. It’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals.

We were not there when Toby was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.

As with all of our rescues & Toby’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Toby potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.

We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Toby & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Zoom followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Toby who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet boy.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt.

Toby has an adoption fee of $1255 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
