Top Cat (aka TC).
Male • Brown Tabby • ~11 lbs of pure heart.
TC strutted into our lives on Memorial Day weekend—scrappy, hungry, and missing a good patch of fur on his backside. The apartment complex manager had reached out, concerned about a mystery tabby who’d been hanging around with no clear home. Everyone said he wasn’t theirs. When we came to check things out, we found him near the dumpster, dining al fresco on chicken from a torn trash bag. Not ideal, but the boy was making do.
Then came the moment that changed everything: the crack of a sardine can. From around the corner, he came trotting like he knew his life was about to change. And it was.
We promised him a better future—and we meant it. He’s now safe, loved, and getting the care he needs to figure out what’s going on with his skin. Despite the rough start, TC has remained nothing but sweet. A chunky gentleman tipping the scales at nearly 11 pounds, he’s got a big presence and an even bigger heart.
Top Cat is a very sweet, friendly boy with a heart as big as his personality. He’s a special-needs kitty who will need to wear a soft, protective onesie for life due to his thin, sensitive skin which can tear easily and is more susceptible to skin infections—and he does an amazing job with his shirt. He keeps his onesie very clean, and it only needs to be changed about 2–3 times a week, a routine he handles like a champ. SSD is applied weekly/as needed to moisturize his skin and a warm wet wash cloth to wash, no other things on T.C.'s skin since it is so sensitive.
This affectionate guy loves belly rubs and will happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. You can pet his head. The only really sensitive area is his lower back around his hips. He’s playful and social, enjoys spending time with other cats, and is getting used to dogs with great progress.
When it comes to food, Top Cat isn’t picky—he can eat any food—but he has a definite soft spot for chicken (see the first paragraph)!
He has not been around children, but I think he will be fine around them. He’s a very laid back cat, and he enjoys being around people. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who’s a little extra special and a whole lot wonderful, Top Cat may be the perfect match for your home.
