My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Haze — the little 22-pound dynamo with a whole lot to say and even more love to give!
Haze is a nearly 2-year-old pit mix who came to us alongside more than 10 other adult dogs from a single home. He may be small in size, but he is big in heart, energy, and charm.

This boy is high-energy, excitable, and always ready for fun. He loves to zip around the yard, go on adventures, and soak up as much attention as you can offer. And when he’s not busy being a goofball? He’s an A+ cuddler who melts right into your arms.

Haze is also wonderfully vocal—he isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts, especially when he’s excited or trying to get your attention. It’s all part of his funny, expressive personality.

He does well with other dogs and would enjoy a home that appreciates his playful style, though he’d also be thrilled to be someone’s one-and-only.

Haze is looking for a home that’s:
✨ Active – he loves movement and mental stimulation
✨ Affectionate – he’s happiest when curled up close
✨ Understanding of his voice – he’s a talker, and it’s adorable

Small, sweet, and packed with personality, Haze is ready to fill a home with laughter, cuddles, and endless joy. If you’re searching for a vibrant companion who loves hard and plays harder… Haze is your guy.

More about this shelter

BENCHS was established in 1969 in Mankato, MN.
We serve Southern MN to help with owner surrenders, stray and unclaimed animals at local impounds.
BENCHS also offers a Food Share Program to help families keep their pets in their homes if they are going through a temporary hardship. As long as we have available donated food, we can have these families come in 2x a month. We may require animals be on a plan to be spay/neutered to receive this help.
