My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
McGee was brought in by a community member.

Why McGee might the one for you:
McGee is a blue eyed blond who is so ready for his new home that he will be at the front of his kennel anxious to meet you. Sometimes he is a little shy but if you put your hand out and let him sniff it, he will soon decide that you are a friend and hopes you will take him home. As we said, he is ready. He needs a warm and supportive dog friendly home with people who will help him build his confidence and learn to trust. He is timid guy who needs a little time to warm up. We can help you with tips and resources for taking a shy dog like McGee and make him into the friendly, affectionate and confident dog that he wants to be. A consistent routine and fun, enriching activities will help McGee get used to their his new home and feel like part of his family! McGee will be a loyal and protective member of your family once you give him time to get to know you. Do you have the time to make McGee yours? If so, come visit McGee at the San Diego Campus

At SDHS:
McGee has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. McGee is now ready for his new home - like, really ready!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
