My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER OR PERMANENT HOME (always a trial basis) NEEDED _ URGENT!

Meet Precious — Perfect dog A Truly Special EASY to KEEP Senior Girl in Need of a New Home ASAP!  Currently kept outside in a cold crate in carport, unfortunately!

Help us save her and get a wonderful Companion! Lots of life to live!

Precious, a super social, low maintenance, housetrained, Non-Reactive to other dogs, EASY to keep, Proven great pet, 10-year-old, 55-lb Terrier mix who has known LOVE her whole life . She is a gentle, friendly, calm, obedient house dog, loves to walk with you, who shows zero aggression, and just wants to be close to people.

Bottomline is we are trying to find this much loved girl a home ASAP before it gets colder.  There is No where for her to go....DON'T want her to go to animal control. Older pit bulls DO NOT get adopted. They endure months of stress until it is their turn to be euthanized.

❤️ Her Story

Precious belonged to a 75-year-old woman who became suddenly and seriously ill. She had to move into a care facility that does not allow pets, leaving Precious with nowhere to go. The elderly lady Owner was SO worried about Precious and she  tried hard to find a new home, but people let her and Precious down.

Her elderly brother finally agreed to house Precious temporarily. She is now living in a carport   in a crate  , at the home of the owner’s 78-year-old brother, who has no fenced yard and who is  not physically able to keep her, in or outside of the house.  She is in a crate in a carport,....and it's COLD!  She wants to be inside and trembles to be there.

Precious has always been an indoor dog, and living outside is frightening and unfamiliar for her. She urgently needs a safe, comfortable home where she can return to being a cherished companion and coach potato. No better more loving dogs than a bulldog mix!!

She has a LOT of life yet to give! The rescue will provide updated vaccines and 6 months of heartworm prevention.

  • 10 years old - Healthy - EASY dog to keep

  • 55 lbs (not too big, and short of short)

  • Spayed - Knows some commands and is very compliant when told to come out of and go in the crate

  • Up to date on all shots and vet work

  • Extremely friendly, calm, and well-behaved

  • Not aggressive - NON reactive

  • House-dog manners - Well housetrained - Walks well on a leash!!

What Precious Needs Now

Precious needs either a permanent home or a foster home as soon as possible. She is an easy, loving senior girl who simply wants to be warm, safe, and close to people again.

If you or someone you know can help Precious, please reach out — she deserves comfort in her golden years. The elderly brother is trying not to make a hard decision for her, but will not let her go to the local animal shelter to die (we agree). Due to winter coming on, that hard decision must be made soon.

AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER OR ADOPT!

ALWAYS a trial period and we take back our cats now or in the future!! Crate and all food, SUPPLIES provided for a foster/trial adoption.

To Do All We Can to Aid in the Rescue, Safety and Welfare of Stray and Abandoned Animals to end as much suffering as possible.

We realize we cannot save the world … but we can try by working with each rescued animal on an individual basis.

Go meet their pets

Because we are not a shelter, do not have a boarding facility, and are not connected with any other agency, we always welcome foster homes where animals can stay temporarily. We also welcome all tax-deductible donations from individuals or foundations.
No donation is too small.

More about this rescue

A Welcome Home Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created to help the homeless, hurt and/or abandoned animals. Our end goal is to place each animal in a permanent, loving home where all their needs will be met. We believe every animal deserves humane treatment. We believe in our role as caretakers, protecting those who cannot defend themselves, speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.
