My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Minnie is an 8-month-old, 35-pound terrier mix with the sweetest personality. She is a friendly, nice, and gentle young girl who warms up quickly and truly wants to be loved. Even though she is still a puppy, Minnie has a calm, soft energy that makes her easy to be around, and she enjoys simple things like being close to her people, exploring the yard, and soaking up attention.

Minnie is heartworm positive (HW+), but please don’t let that scare you—she is young, healthy, and an excellent candidate for treatment. Many dogs her age make a full recovery with proper care, and she will have all the support she needs while she completes her treatment plan.

This lovely girl would thrive in a home that can offer her patience, routine, and plenty of affection. Whether you’re looking for a sweet companion, a cuddle buddy, or a loyal best friend, Minnie is ready to fill that role. She’s eager for a fresh start and can’t wait to meet the family who will finally give her the safe, loving home she deserves

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
