My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When a door closes, a window opens.. is that the expression?Or, when one family is lost, a foster appears!Sweet Gus is one of our lucky, lucky pups who hasn't had some tragic and traumatic past.He has had one family who loved him but who could ultimately not provide the care he needed. Bulldogs are NOT for everyone, y'all! Gus is a gentle giant. He LOVES the humans.Loves the snacks and loves all the attention. He loves a short walk, his crate, and smooshy toys (in no particular order :). He's a typical bowling ball bulldog who loves, loves, loves to be a part of a family and would LOVE to have a pack of people and potentially pets to call his own, oh, and to be home for the holidays To see more of our dogs, please go to https://austinbulldogrescue.com to see who is available and to learn how to get involved with ABR.

Applicants must go to the foster's home to meet their match in person and are encouraged to bring their dog(s) and kid(s), if applicable.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

Review medical records, sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee in full.

6.

Take the Pet Home

Adopters must pick up their dog in person and get them home safely. Sorry, ABR cannot ship dogs.

Additional adoption info

Austin Bulldog Rescue is 100% foster-based, and does not have a shelter or facility where applicants can come meet dogs before applying. Meet and greets with a potential match will happen after an adoption application is approved. ABR is a matching rescue -- while our teams take dog preference into account, we ultimately match families to the dog best suited for their home and lifestyle. The more thoroughly you answer the interview questions, the better the matching experience on all sides!
