My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Olaf is a perfect little puppy with lots of snuggles and energy in him. These little ones recently came from an unsafe situation, and theyve been thriving with proper care, structure, and love. Dad is a 50/50 FrenchiePug mix and mom is a pure pug, making this trio mostly pug with just a hint of Frenchie sass! Please note: We do not place littermates in the same home due to the risk of littermate syndrome. Puppies also require frequent meals and lots of socialization, so homes with long workdays at the office or extended absences wont be a match. Adopters are required to sign a spay/neuter contract and must continue their puppy vaccines. Pickup in Concord, CA. If youre flying, Sacramento airport is preferred, but OAK can also work.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

After an application is received, we will reach out to schedule an interview. If the applicant is a renter, we will require landlord approval. If the applicant has a yard, we will require a digital walkthrough of the fence line. Once approved, the adopter is eligible to connect with the foster of the dog they're interested in for a meet and greet. If all goes well, the adopter can take the dog home!

More about this rescue

Bay Area Pug Project (BAPP) is more than just a rescue - it’s a movement.

California suffers from a backyard breeding epidemic, and pugs are sadly one of the outputs. Pug rescues across the nation come to our state to save pugs from unsafe, unwanted, and undesirable situations, and there can never be enough help to tackle this crisis.

Founded by a group of experienced and passionate volunteers, BAPP was born from a shared love of pugs and a desire to build a strong, informed community around the breed. We believe that true rescue goes beyond saving dogs—it means educating the public, advocating for responsible ownership, and collaborating with other groups for maximum impact.

We’re dedicated to supporting brachycephalic breed enthusiasts and the communities where neglect or limited education are common, offering resources and guidance to promote better care and health outcomes.

Pugs are more than cute snorts and curly tails—they’re complex little souls who deserve to be understood and cared for by informed and pug-obsessed homes like ours. Join us in making a difference.
