My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lilie (18 lbs of “I’m Christmas cute AND I know it”)

Hi hi hiiii! I’m Lilie, I’m 2 years old, and I came to the Freedom Squad alongside my buddy Rosie (nope, we’re not related — just two little survivors who went through the same storm together).

My “Glow-Up” Story
When we first got to rescue, we were both really sick with a highly contagious case of pneumonia. It was so intense that Rosie even spread it to some of her foster siblings. The good news? The rescue worked HARD for us — lots of vet visits, lots of care — and we’ve cleared the pneumonia. I’m officially on the mend and feeling so much better.

The Lilie Soundtrack (aka My Trachea Quirk)
Here’s my little lifelong quirk: I have tracheal hypoplasia , so I’ll always sound like a congested little girl. Sometimes you’ll hear snorts, little noises, and occasionally I might have some “boogers” running down my nose. It’s just part of my package — and it does not stop me from living my best life. What you need to know is since I have this genetic medical issue I can not be spay. While trying to intubate me twice blood entered the tube, my doc did not want to take the risk in me aspirating. It is just not worth the chance of me loosing my life.

Food Plan That Keeps Me Strong
Because I can sometimes regurgitate, the rescue has me on a freeze-dried diet to help me keep weight on (and guess what — it WORKED). I’ve gained a few pounds, I’m thriving, and we want to keep me feeling strong and steady.

My Humidifier Habit
I’m a fancy girl with a wellness routine: I do best sleeping with a humidifier near my crate or in the room I’m sleeping in. It helps keep everything more comfortable and cleared out for me.

Ball Is Life
And yes… I am THAT girl. I’m obsessed with balls. Like… if there’s a ball, I’m locked in. It’s my favorite thing in the whole world and I will happily audition for the role of “Professional Ball Enthusiast” in your home.

My Perfect Home
I’d love a home that understands my trachea quirk and keeps up with my simple comfort routine (humidifier + good diet). If you want a little buddy who’s sweet, recovering strong, and ready to live a cozy, happy life with a ball in her mouth… I’m your girl.

Ready to meet me?
Of course you are! I need a responsible family that is going to take on my constant congestion and shower me with love! Please do not apply to adopt me because I’m just “cute” because I am more then that. I am vaccinated and microchipped, my adoption donation fee is $1050.00. Whoever adopts me will have to sign an agreement that they understand I am not spay and I can not be. The rescue will do check in's to confirm my new family is upholding the agreement. Currently I am being fostered in Phoenix, AZ, you can apply for me at freedomfrenchierescue.org

*Please Note: All learning and guidance must continue in their new home. A dog’s behavior can change with a new environment and energy, and every family’s dynamic is different. What works or is allowed in one foster home may not be the same in yours, so consistency, patience, and continued training are key to their success.
