My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dolly was found stray by a kind citizen who is fostering her until adopted since her owners did not surface. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She tested positive for heartworms on 12/10 and has started the heartworm treatment - which is one shot of Proheart12 and 30 days of an oral antibiotic. She will be retested in 1 year (this is covered by LHS). The Proheart12 also serves as a full year of heartworm prevention - added savings to an adopter.

She is 1 year old and weights 8  lbs.

Here's what her foster family said:

Dolly is really smart, she has learned very quickly how to walk on leash and she housebroken. She is very, very cuddle, seems very happy to sit in your lap. She hasn't been around other dogs or kids but makes no indication that she wouldn't be happy with either.

Adoption fee is $275. Please apply online if you're interested in meeting her.  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society

We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.

Additional adoption info

Adopters will complete an adoption app. If he/she has a pet, we will check their vet reference and a home visit is not needed (as long as the vet reference is current). All pets must be up to date current on Heartworm prevention and S/N. If a home visit is needed, we will complete that ASAP--as we don't want any delays in the adoption process. The adoption fees are listed here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-fees/. There is a 5-day grace period to make sure he/she is a good fit for your family. A full refund will be issued if the pet is returned within the 5-day trial period. Before you chose to adopt, check out this link for a few items to consider before making this big step: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/are-you-ready-to-adopt/
