My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🚨🥣 MEALWORM GREMLIN TO SNACK-SEEKING SUPERMODEL 🥣🚨

Everyone please gather around and behold: Piper’s illegal transformation arc.

This dog arrived looking like someone had set her game difficulty to “dark souls — starvation mode” and then walked away from the console.
She weighed TWENTY. EIGHT. POUNDS.
That’s not a dog, that’s a haunted xylophone with feelings.

She had ribs, shoulders, hip bones, collarbones, jaw bones — probably some bones that vets haven’t even discovered yet. She was like an anatomy coloring book without the coloring.

And now???
NOW SHE’S OUT HERE LOOKING LIKE A TOASTY LITTLE CROISSANT WITH LEGS, getting snacks, getting love, getting her best life, and honestly judging us for being broke and tired.

Piper was once surviving on vibes, prayers, and pure spite.
Now she is thriving on:
🧀 Snacks
🥓 More snacks
🍗 Even more snacks
💋 Attention
🏃‍♀️ Being zoomy
🐶 Identifying as a “good girl™”

She went from “I might be a cryptid” to “could model for Petco if she felt like it.”

She loves every human she sees and assumes they were sent here to worship her.
And honestly? They should. After what she’s been through, she deserves a cult.

Piper is now ready to be adopted (foster to adopt), which means one lucky human gets to wake up every morning to a dog who once cheated death just to steal treats off your counter.

If you’re looking for a dog with:
✨ A tragic backstory
✨ A glow-up that could be featured in Vogue
✨ A desire to snuggle so intensely you’ll develop scoliosis
✨ The heart of a warrior and the stomach of a raccoon

SHE’S YOUR GIRL.

Also if you want to help us continue turning skeleton goblins into chubby cherubs, donations are deeply appreciated because this rescue is expensive and we are held together by caffeine and rage.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopter(s) will meet the dog. At this time there will also be a meet and greet between any other pets included in the household.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of an initial application for the animal of interest, followed by reference checks (both personal and with a veterinarian), a home visit, and finally if approved an adoption contract. All animals are required to be inside companion pets and the owner must maintain veterinary care throughout the life of the animal.

Adoption fees are $150 for dogs, unless it is fostered through us for another rescue and $75 for cats.

All animals are up to date with vaccinations and spayed/neutered before adoption.

Go meet their pets

Arrangements can be made to visit with any of our pets, but because we are foster based and do not have one facility, appointments must be made to do so. To visit with a pet, please contact us at 814-421-7078 by phone or text.

More about this rescue

We are a small foster based rescue, not a shelter, comprised of multiple individuals that open their homes to stray, sick, and forgotten animals in need. We began the rescue in the Ligonier Area to focus on issues of stray, abandoned, and neglected animals. We often took in animals for the local police departments instead of having them sent to animal control. We have since expanded and try to cooperate with the public, other rescues, and other animal groups to assist any animal in need. Our primary focus area for intake though is still the Ligonier Valley. Adoptions can be made to any area as long as the adoption process is completed.
