My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Harley has been waiting far too long for her forever home, and we cant understand why she truly is the total package. Harley is a 5-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix with a gentle spirit, an affectionate heart, and just the right amount of playful energy. Harley loves lounging in the sunshine, going for relaxed walks, and curling up beside her people when its time to unwind. Shes confident in new situations, friendly with everyone she meets, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Even better, shes one of those special pups who also likes cats a rare and wonderful trait for her breed mix. Why Harley is amazing: Spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped Heartworm negative and on monthly prevention Housebroken and crate trained Great with dogs and cats Friendly, gentle, and easygoing Harley has been patiently waiting since June for her forever family to find her. Shes loving, steady, and ready to be someones loyal companion. All she needs is the chance to show how wonderful she is. If youre looking for a devoted, easygoing dog who fits beautifully into home life, Harley may be the one youve been searching for. Follow more of Harleys updates on our Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/littlebigdogrescueVA Adoption fees are $250 unless otherwise stated. Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application; we check all references; and upon adoption, we require the adopter to sign an adoption contract which says, among other things, that if the adoption doesn't work out, the dog must come back to Little Big Dog Rescue.

More about this rescue

Little Big Dog Rescue is the little rescue with the big heart.
We are a 501c3 non-profit rescue that is committed to improve and save the lives of dogs through:

Rescue, Rehabilitation, Training, Adoption and Community Education

In January 2025, the rescue underwent a transition, redefining its mission to a different focus and locality. Little Big Dog Rescue relocated to the New River Valley in Christiansburg, Virginia and expanded from predominately a senior dog rescue to helping dogs of all ages in need as our resources allow.

LBDR aims to pull from local kill shelters and assist owner surrenders as space allows in our foster homes. Each dog will be vetted to include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, deworming, etc. and then spend quality time in a foster home so we may learn more about each dog's personality and needs for their future "furever" home success. We are committed to providing medical rehabilitation as well as some behavioral training whenever possible to further improve the quality of life each dog may have after being adopted. Additionally, LBDR hopes to give back to the community by offering education on various aspects of the privilege of dog ownership, including proper medical care, training needs, breed-specific needs, and so much more.
