Gabbie is a delightful Patterdale Terrier mix, approximately 3 years old, with a sweet spirit and a huge heart. You may recognize her name, as she was originally adopted from us as a young puppy in March 2023. Sadly, due to a profound loss in her family and the necessity of moving, Gabbie has found herself back in our care. This resilient girl is now ready to put the past behind her and eager to begin her next chapter.
Gabbie is an active and adventurous dog who absolutely loves being outside. If you enjoy hiking, backyard play, or simply spending time enjoying the fresh air, Gabbie would make the perfect adventure buddy! She is also a social butterfly, and her previous family reported that she can get along well with other canine companions. Given Gabbie's enthusiastic chewing habits, we would consider her a 'super chewer'. We suggest supervision while she is playing with toys (soft balls, rope toys, etc.) and bedding to prevent ingestion. We have been providing her with durable, safe alternatives, such as hard Nylabones, to help satisfy her desire to chew safely.
This wonderful girl is completely ready to move right in: she is up to date on all her vaccinations, she is already spayed, and she is also microchipped for identification.
Gabbie is an affectionate, loving girl just waiting for her forever home! Can you be the kind heart that offers this deserving girl the second chance she is waiting for? Apply to meet Gabbie by completing an online adoption application found on our website at www.wesavepets.com. Once the application has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in contact to discuss the next steps of setting up a meet & greet.
In case you're curious to read about Gabbie as a young puppy, below is a little more information about how this sweet gal came into our care initially:
Gabbie and her three adorable sister littermates came to Safe Haven after another local animal shelter reached out asking for help with a local request of an accidental litter. The total litter of 8 puppies was a lot to take on all at once, so Safe Haven was able to help them out by taking in four of the eight puppies. These gals were about 8 weeks old. Their mother was a Patterdale Terrier about 20lbs. Their father was a Husky/Heeler/Patterdale Mix about 40lbs.
