Hi, I’m Dante! I’m a very handsome boy who will be turning 2 years old next spring. I’m on the smaller side for my breed at under 80 lbs, and I come with lots of charming little spots, I look like an oversized Dalmatian!
I currently live with my foster family, which includes two teenage girls and four doggy “sisters.” I absolutely love being part of a dog pack. My sisters have taught me all the important things: how to share, how to settle in my crate, and how to be patient at dinnertime. I’m housetrained, and my favorite place to do my business is the tall grass. I also enjoy snoozing on the couch, but when it’s time to go outside, I get very excited!
My early life was hard. I came from a backyard breeder who used to hit me with a leash, and I spent a year living as a stray with my brother and sister. We survived by hunting and staying far away from people. Because of that, I can still be a little unsure about new humans. I just need you to approach me calmly and give me a moment to warm up. Big, fast movements can scare me, but once I trust you, I’m a total snuggle bug.
With the help of my foster sisters, I’ve learned how to be a real family dog, to play with toys, relax in the house, and enjoy being loved. I’ve completed heartworm treatment and recovered well. I do have a fancy GPS collar because, in the past, fences weren’t always enough to contain my adventurous spirit. My foster mom believes in “better safe than sorry!”
I love treats like bananas, blueberries, apples, and my absolute favorite, steak! In my forever home, I would really love to have a friendly doggy sister. It helps me feel calm and comfortable. I’ll also need a secure fence and, if possible, some nice tall grass to enjoy.
I will follow you everywhere, especially into the kitchen, I’m an expert at supervising meal prep! I’m still young, eager to learn, and so ready to become part of someone’s family pack.
