Meet Poppy â¤ï¸
Poppy is a shy, sweet kitty who just needs a little time—and a lot of patience—to feel safe around people. Once she gets the chance to settle in, her gentle nature really shines. She does wonderfully with other cats and would thrive in a home with a friendly feline companion to help show her the ropes.

Poppy is especially bonded with her best friend, Declan, and takes great comfort in his presence. The two make a wonderful pair, offering each other confidence and companionship.

Poppy is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can move at her own pace and build trust on her terms. If you’re someone who believes the best bonds are earned slowly and lovingly—and maybe have room for two best friends—Poppy might be the perfect match for you.

Adopters can meet our animals 7 days per week at our Sayreville, NJ facility. All adopters are asked to fill out an adoption application survey to find their perfect match. Surveys can be filled out in person at the shelter, or through our online form. All pets are spayed/neutered and receive age-appropriate vaccinations before going home. Adoption fees are $125 for cats and $250 for dogs.

We are located directly adjacent to the Sayrebrook Animal Hospital. Our hours of operation are:

Mon through Fri - 4:30PM to 7PM
Sat and Sun - 11AM to 4PM

Sammy's Hope Animal Welfare & Adoption Center is privately-operated animal shelter, staffed and supported by volunteers, that helps care for and find Forever Homes for homeless animals. We work with local NJ municipal animal shelters to help alleviate their overcrowding and find homeless pets their Forever Families.

Sammy's Hope is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Thank you!
