My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes: Sushi is a beautiful and extremely well-behaved tabico. Independent and self-sufficient, she prefers to watch you with her large green eyes but also enjoys the occasional enthusiastic game of chase the laser pointer.

My foster writes: Meet Sushi 🍣
Sweet, soft, and a little shy-Sushi is a gentle beauty who just needs time to feel safe in her new home. Once she warms up, her quiet charm and adorable looks will melt your heart. Give her patience, and you'll gain a loyal little friend for life. 💖

Sushi is a beautiful Tabico or Caliby (Tabby + Calico) - a quiet, modest beauty, like a tiny flower on a sidewalk, undisturbed, blending into the ordinary landscapes that is usually overlooked in our busy lives.
She appreciates admiration from the distance, slow blinking sessions with soft spoken voices. She lounges and naps on her favorite spots with no frills (cat lotus branch laid down near the floor, behind the cushy cat bed that sits under the chair, and a carrier). Being low energy (no climber or a zoomies from her), she can be a chill cat with the human who leads the Zen lifestyle, being just present nearby and calm in the same room.
She is still learning to trust human - it will be baby steps when she lets her guards down. She waits for the understanding family who will find her charms, appreciate how worth she is, and find her inseparable for life.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

A volunteer writes: Sushi tries everyday to start on the right paw and like any of us, her best looks different each day. She was left behind with other cats in an apartment and while we don't know much else about her life before the shelter, we can understand that she's been asked to sort through several big changes and that's quite an ask for a soft and gentle girl such as herself. Snuggled up in her den with paws stretched out wide, Sushi looked at me with a bit of confusion but was trying her best to be open and she's hoping you'll come in and meet her soon.
