My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy is the lapdog of your dreams

New to New Jersey on November 2 and ready to find her forever home!

Say hello to Lucy, a 2-year-old Yorkie/Scottish Terrier mix who weighs just under 13 pounds — the perfect size to fit right into your lap (her favorite place to be!).

Lucy came to us a bit of a scruffy mess, but after a well-deserved grooming, she’s feeling fresh, fabulous, and ready for her new lease on life. Just look at that sweet face — she knows she’s ready for her big debut!

Lucy is as charming as she is adorable. She’s gentle, loving, and excited to see everyone who approaches her. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working from home, or just need a loyal companion to brighten your days, Lucy will be right there by your side.

Personality: Affectionate, calm, and always ready to cuddle
Favorite pastime: Being your shadow and soaking up all the love

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
