Take the Pet Home
Say hello to Ember, a curious, spunky and energetic sweet little pup who loves to play! Enjoy some snuggles once she finally gets worn out. She came into rescue scared and unsure but she has been bravely settling in and letting her personality shine through.
Ember does have typical herding breed “nippy” tendencies so she will do best in a home with older considerate children who understand puppy behavior.
Ember will do best as an only pup or with a medium to large dog buddy to match her energy. She is reactive to small dogs and cats so a home without them is a must. A fenced in yard or acreage is a must since she is an active herding mix who needs room to roam and explore.
She’s still learning about the world and can be nervous with new people and loud noises.
Potty training is underway and she has been doing great peeing outside but still is working on pooping outside. Crate training is a work in progress as she is getting used to the routine and improving each day. Ember can be vocal as many herding mixes are so a home that doesn’t mind some puppy chatter is ideal.
With patience, consistency and training then Ember will be your loyal companion. She will thrive in a home with someone who understands herding breeds.
Ember is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page.
*Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*
If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
