My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Emmy was brought in by a community member on October 15, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Emmy is a bright, social girl who's always ready to make new friends - whether they're people, dogs, or even small animals she hopes will join in her play. She has been gentle and kind with children in her previous home, showing a patient and friendly nature that makes her a wonderful companion. With her high energy and curious spirit, Emmy thrives when she has plenty of time to play, explore, and be part of the fun. She loves attention, making her easy to spend time with. Like many huskies, Emmy's adventurous side sometimes gets the best of her, especially if she hasn't had enough activity - she's known to look for new friends beyond the fence! With enough exercise and engagement, though, she's happiest right by your side. Bring a leash and collar when you come to meet this lively sweetheart - Emmy's ready to add a little extra sparkle (and maybe a few pawprints) to your life!

At SDHS:
Emmy has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
