My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan.

Why this pet is the one for you:
KitKat has put a lot of life behind her and she is ready to be someone's much loved dog. She is a protector dog and she wants to get on with her mission of keeping her humans safe and sound. She hopes that her humans will keep her safe and sound because she is ready. She will bond closely with her people and will want to be with them as much as possible. She will want outdoor space and hopes her humans will play often with her. She is a go slow type of dog - but not too slow. She is shy and will be most comfortable with her people. Would you open your home and heart to this nice dog who is waiting for a break in life. If you take her home, you will be rewarded with a loyal dog who is made for being your best buddy.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
