My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FUN, SWEET & ACTIVE:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 35 lbs.

Hello – I’m Eleanor!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so happy to be soaking up all the love from the volunteers.  I’m now ready to find a wonderful home of my very own with a family to love and be loved by!  I hope to meet them very soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet, people-loving pup with a wonderful mix of gentleness and enthusiasm.  I can be strong and energetic on walks – and I definitely love to jump for joy – so I’m still learning my manners.  But during bath time and ear cleaning, I was calm as can be, standing in the tub and leaning against the edge like a pro.  I’m playful, friendly, and smart, and even though I can be a bit jumpy and full of energy, my kind heart and lovely personality always shine through.  The shelter environment is a bit stressful for me, so I’ve started on 2 anxiety medications that I think I’ll be able to wean off once I’ve settled into my new home. / Energy level: 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘leave it’ commands and I look forward to learning more. / The crate isn’t my favorite place, but I’ll go back into it especially if a treat is involved. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I really love people, and toys are always a big hit with me, too!  As we get to know each other, I’m sure we’ll discover even more things we’ll enjoy doing together. /  Other that being a bit stressed in the shelter environment and not really wanting to go back into my crate, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  As stated, I’m on 2 anxiety medications for shelter stress that I think I’ll be able to wean off of as I settle into my new home.

I’m a fun-loving active girl looking for the same in my new family. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
