My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & GENTLE GIRL:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 37 lbs.

Hi, my name is Glynnis!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am grateful for the love and attention I am receiving while I wait for my new family to find me.  I hope to meet them soon!  I got to spend a few days in a temporary foster home over the Thanksgiving holiday and loved it!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’d like to be your only dog as I do not care for other dogs. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  And kids shouldn’t walk me due to my dislike of other dogs.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers say I am ‘a super sweet and precious’ girl who just melts into them for scratches and attention.  They gave me some extra assurance and love when I arrived – speaking to me in a calm, gentle voice, as I came in a bit timid and afraid of my new environment, but I’m adjusting well and loving people a lot.  I’m reported to be gentle, cuddly, friendly and just a fun, happy girl!  My temporary foster said I am “the sweetest dog ever!”  My sweet nature is sure to melt your heart. / My energy level is 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  So far, I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ’leave it’ commands. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though I can be stubborn about returning to it after being out and about with the volunteers as I’d rather spend time with them.  I did well in my crate in a temp. foster home.  / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule, but I did well in a temporary foster home I visited for a few days so maybe I just need to go out more often than the shelter schedule allows.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy being with people and will sometimes just lie down when I know we are headed back to my kennel as I would like to spend more time together.  I love our walks and time together and just don’t want it to end!  The best part is when we are just hanging out, and I can collect those soft cuddles and gentle scratches that I love.  Curling up for a nap in a nice soft blanket feels so good.  I also love giving kisses, so you’ll know you’re loved! / I don’t think I’d like being rushed into new situations, so please give me a little time to adjust.  I’m not interested in toys right now, but that could change.  Other than that, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving, furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

More about this rescue

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
