My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dill is an 8-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix who weighs 9.5 pounds, and this tiny guy brings big personality once he feels safe and settled. He’s a reserved, slow-to-warm-up pup, but give him a little time and patience and he’ll happily snuggle right into your lap.

Dill is house trained and enjoys hanging out in the house, zooming around indoors, and taking brief walks when it's not cold out. He can be a bit of a grump when crated, and he does much better in an ex-pen, where he relaxes, rests, and feels more like himself. That’s also where his hidden talent shines—he can stand straight up on his hind legs like a little meerkat, balancing with perfect confidence!

He does best with small dogs and is currently warming up to a big female dog, a medium male, and a small male in his foster home. He may growl at dogs at first but improves as he gets to know them. Cats, however, are not on his list of friends—he will bark at them with great enthusiasm. He hasn’t been around children, and an adult-only home is recommended.

A quiet home with few visitors and an experienced adopter who understands small-dog personalities would be ideal for this little guy. Dill will thrive with someone who respects his boundaries, offers calm structure, and appreciates the big heart behind his tiny frame. Once he trusts you, he’s a total cuddlebug—just waiting for his person to help him feel safe, understood, and loved. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
