This handsome 5-year-old Australian Shepherd is the total package — smart, loyal, and full of love! Max knows his basic commands like sit, down, stay, and come, though he may forget his manners when he’s extra excited. He’s fully housebroken and has never had an accident indoors. He’s a good boy who loves his toys and bones, enjoys chewing appropriately, and even appreciates some quiet time in his crate — though he’d much rather be right by your side.
Max is happiest when he’s with his person, whether he’s fetching a ball, soaking up belly rubs, or resting his head in your lap. He walks nicely on a leash but can get a bit reactive or pull when he sees other dogs — just the enthusiastic Aussie energy shining through. He has played well with other dogs, but slow, calm introductions are best.
Like many herding breeds, Max takes his job seriously. He’ll alert you when a delivery arrives, stays aware of everything happening in the home, and loves following you from room to room. Because he may try to herd small children or animals, he’ll thrive in a home familiar with typical Aussie behaviors and ready to help him channel that energy positively.
All animals are up to date on age appropriate shots, microchipped and fixed. To meet one of our animals we require an approved application. You can fill one out at https://tobyscrittercoverescue.org/adoptionapp/
