My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Luna Bean

I am a relaxed, affectionate, polite young lady who loves almost any activity! Long walks or jogs? Love it! Snuggles on the couch? Absolutely! Staring at you while you do chores? Most definitely!

When I’m not hanging out with my human friends, I love to catch any rays of sun I can by laying down like a seal on the beach. Carpet, grass, wood floor, concrete- it doesn’t matter! If there is sun, you can bet I’ll be soaking all of it up.

The best thing about me? I’ll match your speed! You wanna come home from a long day of work and relax on the couch, I’m your girl! OR if you’re more of the ‘go on a jog to get your mind off of work’ kinda person, so am I! And while I love to play with a ball flying through the air, my favorite toy is a stuffed animal, it’s almost like having my own pet!

Want to fall in love with me even more? Well get ready- I am as house trained as house trained gets! I can’t remember the last time I pottied inside, and I’m quick to business when I do get outside! I love a crate with a blanket- some place to call my own, but I can control myself in any environment. Free range around the house, not allowed in certain rooms, or even sticking to my own space somewhere is fine with me!

I love attention from any and all humans- head pats, face rubs, tummy rubs, all of it!! However, I’m not a fan of attention from other dogs or cats. (I knew a cat once- not a fan.) And while I’ve lived with other dogs my entire life, I know I would really thrive in a household where I am the only dog for you to love on! I’ll admit, I get jealous when other dogs are around, and sometimes my (gorgeous) teeth can come out to growl.

As much as I love my current owner, I do NOT love her husband’s dog and would love nothing more than to find a home where I am the only pup involved. I am an ‘all attention on me’ kinda dog, and thrive in a house where I’m the only dog for you to love on!

I promise when I find my forever home I’ll be the most happy, tail wagging dog you’ve ever seen! I’ve never met a human I didn’t love, but I might have my guard up when you first meet me (it’s not personal, I swear).

Luna Bean is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.
