Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cali — Your Future Adventure Buddy!
Cali is a bright, energetic, and affectionate 6-year-old pup who has been deeply loved since she was just 3 months old. She’s incredibly smart, fully house-trained, and always eager to please the people she trusts. Whether she’s showing off her commands, chasing her favorite toy, or curling up for a quiet snuggle,
Cali is happiest when she’s with her person.
Cali absolutely loves the outdoors—especially summertime swims at the lake. She’d thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can run, explore, and enjoy playtime safely. Inside, she’s a sweet companion who settles beautifully once she’s had her exercise.
Because Cali prefers all the love and attention to herself, she needs to be the only pet in the home. She has displayed serious aggression toward other dogs in the past, so she will require a pet-free environment and an adopter who can give her structure, safety, and understanding. Due to her strong prey drive and high energy, she would also do best in a home with children 12+.
Rehoming Cali has been an incredibly difficult decision. A new dog next door has created a situation where Cali no longer feels secure, and despite careful management, she has become increasingly reactive. Her current environment is no longer safe or fair for her, and she deserves a home where she can relax, thrive, and be the wonderful companion she truly is.
If you’re someone who:
✔ Loves an active, intelligent dog
✔ Has a dog-free home and a secure yard
✔ Can offer patience, guidance, and plenty of affection
…then Cali may be the perfect match for you. She has so much love to give and is ready to be someone’s loyal, one-and-only best friend.
Cali is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.
