My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Jim, the handsome little gentleman who was found as a stray alongside his friend Joyce through our partners at Operation Kindness. Like Joyce, he’s about 11 years old, and while we’d love to see them adopted together, it’s not required — Jim just wants a soft bed, a warm lap, and a family to adore him.

Jim recently had a dental and is feeling so much better. He may be a senior, but he’s healthy, bright-eyed, and absolutely full of charm. With his sweet face and calm, steady presence, he’s the kind of dog who quietly works his way right into your heart.

He’s gentle, affectionate, and enjoys the simple things in life: cozy naps, being near his people, and taking in the world at an easygoing pace. Jim is the definition of a “good little buddy,” and he’ll make a wonderful companion for anyone looking to give a senior pup the love he deserves.

If you’ve been hoping for a mellow, loving, golden-years companion, Jim is ready to start his next chapter with you.

All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process prioritizes accessibility, equality, and inclusivity. An application can be completed online or in person, ensuring accessibility for all potential adopters. Additionally, our application is available in Spanish to cater to a diverse range of applicants.

Once an application is submitted and approved, we facilitate adoption meet-and-greets on-site at our shelter's adoption center. This allows potential adopters to interact with the animals they are interested in and make informed decisions about their adoption.

Overall, our adoption program is designed to make the process as smooth and inclusive as possible, ensuring that each animal finds a loving and permanent home.
