Meet Katy! (AKA Katy Bug)

She was surrendered by her owner due to a move unfortunately, so that’s why she’s need a FURever home now. Oh my word…she the sweetest girl ever! She is so friendly and walked in the house liked she had always been here! This girl is a major cuddler and lap dog, so be warned! lol Oh and she has the softest fur for a chihweenie I’ve ever touched!

Katy is 4-5 years old and weighs 12 pounds. She is spayed, updated on all shots, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. She must be kept on heartworm prevention all of her life like all dogs should be. She is great with people of all ages and other dogs. She has been good with most of my cats, but there is 1 she doesn’t care for at all, so it will just depend on the cat.

She is pretty good in the house and is used to a fence or leash walking. As always, please expect a few accidents as she adjusts to her new home.

The adoption fee is $225
Which covers spay/neuter, shots, microchip, heartworm test, grooming (if needed), deworming, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and supplies while in our care. The pet MUST be kept on heartworm prevention all of their life.

Some of the FURkids may have a higher fee than others, to help balance the costs to cover other FURkids needs as well.

*We do home checks (either in person or virtual) for each pet before approving an adoption. Home owners and those a fenced in yard are always given preference.*

The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. If they are still on the page, they are still more than likely still available.

Once a pet is adopted from our rescue, they MUST be returned to us, if you cannot keep them. If you plan on not keeping them their whole lives, please do not apply.

You must be willing to love and keep your pet FURever. If you can’t promise to do everything in your power to keep them, please don’t apply.

FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue is a small home-based sanctuary and rescue for dogs (primarily) near the Chattanooga, TN area. All pets that come here, are fully vetted before being placed into loving homes. We do NOT have a public shelter. To meet our pets, you must have an approved application on file and we will bring them to your home, or meet in 1 of our few meeting spaces.

More about this rescue

Established in 2011, FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue is a privately run rescue.

All of our sanctuary/rescue pets have come from situations such as being on death row at shelters, owners who can no longer keep them, or even rescued from heartbreaking situations.

Each rescued pet is kept in foster homes until a FURever home is found. If no home can be found, they become a sanctuary pet. Every pet is spayed/neutered (if of age), current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and dogs are heartworm tested, (if the dog is over 6 months) prior to adoption.

The adoption process requires an adoption application. If the application looks good, we will contact your veterinarian for a reference (if applicable). If that checks out, we will schedule a home check (for the safety of our rescues). If local, we will come to your home. If you are not local, we will need several pictures and/or a video of your home/yard to complete the home check. Finally, if approved, you will fill out an adoption contract and pay the pets set adoption fee (which varies).

FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue has adopted out hundreds of animals since we began. We have a professional working relationship as a rescue with many other area rescues, vets, shelters and spay/neuter clinics in the area.
