Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Nougat! Nougat is a beautiful, soft-coated dog with striking icy blue eyes and a playful, affectionate personality. He enjoys chase, fetch, and yard time, and he settles in happily for cuddles once he feels comfortable. Nougat is housebroken and polite-he waits to be invited onto furniture. He loves children, though he does best with kids 8 years and older. He occasionally needs reminders to be gentle with his mouth and may attempt to mount during play, but he is easily redirected. Nougat has experienced anxiety in the shelter environment and thrives in a predictable, structured home. He does best with morning and evening exercise and would strongly benefit from a home with a fenced yard. He enjoys the company of people and gets along well with other dogs. He would do well living with another playful dog or having regular opportunities for dog-park visits or playdates.
While initially timid with new people, Nougat warms up quickly. On-leash, he may become anxious when encountering unfamiliar individuals and may attempt to move back toward home. Continued leash-manner training will help him build confidence in these situations. Although he is very fast, he has not shown escape tendencies and stays near his foster family outdoors.
Nougat does exhibit some mild separation distress. It will be helpful to have games or toys for him to focus on when his people are not home. He and will cry for approximately 10 minutes after his people leave. For this reason, a house is preferable to an apartment to minimize noise concerns for neighbors.
Nougat is seeking a calm, stable home that can offer routine, reassurance, and plenty of opportunities for exercise. With patience and consistency, he will make a devoted, loving companion. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 35 Age: 1yrs 7mths 0wks
