My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner on December 05, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Pieces is a sweet, shy calico who's looking for a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and settle in at her own pace. She has lived indoors with many other cats and is generally calm around them, though new people and new situations can be a little scary for her at first. Once she feels comfortable, Pieces enjoys gentle petting and grooming, but she doesn't love being restrained and may need time to get used to carriers and handling. She has a moderate-to-busy activity level and can be a playful, curious girl when she feels secure. If you're looking for a sensitive, soft-hearted companion who will blossom with kindness and patience, Pieces may be the perfect match.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
