This helps Lucky Dog Animal Rescue with pet care costs.
PUDDING NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Pudding Best Guess for Breed: Retriever and shepherd mix
Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of November 2025 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 52 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Special adoption considerations: Pudding is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.
We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!
Pudding is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweet mush landed in the shelter through no fault of her own and is eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks and romps and all those wonderful cuddles. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well but you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved, where she belongs. In exchange, she promises so much love and loyalty.
What do you say? Is Pudding the one you see by your side?
